Fall 2021 updates rollup

Permalink Report to webmaster

A lot has been happening since our last updates rollup back in July:

  • Libra.Codes has been released, and we're providing our services to their users.
  • We added the Codex on Althash token.
  • We had to delist Nix.
  • We improved our security subsystems and enforced some features that raised by a huge factor the reliability of our products.

But above all that, a change we've released a few hours ago has a big impact in most of our systems:

Price indexes algorithm has been updated

One of our key features is the ability to specify dynamic prices in the exchange (all info about this can be found in our Exchange Crash Course).

For this feature to work, we download price indexes from CoinGecko every few minutes. Then our algo makes all necessary conversions for crypto/crypto and crypto/fiat markets.

Previously, trades taking place in our exchange weren't accounted in the price indexes. That was basically because we had a missing piece in the puzzle, and updating the price indexes with local trades might cause a continuous loop that might impact us in the long run.

The missing piece was put in place, so now, when a trade takes place, the indexes are updated.

This change is important because we're going to start the listing process as exchange in CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap soon.

We still have to include some extras in our API calls, add endpoints for aggregators to fetch more information and optimize database calls before attempting to get listed.

Now, if you attempted to post trade orders in our exchange and suddenly saw a big difference in very specific markets...

Those spikes are real. They reflect the latest trades that took place in those markets.

All that being said, we'll describe all changes in our systems ahead:
